The Money Doctor - Personal Finance Writer and Financier

John Lowe is probably best known for his popular books on personal finance ‘The Money Doctor’, ‘The Money Doctor Finance Annuals 2006’, ‘2007’ & ‘2008’– the 2007 edition was a number one bestseller in Ireland (paperback non-fiction section) during the months of January and February 2007 with the 2008 edition expected to repeat and better this feat.

His approach as The Money Doctor is simple, objective and effective. What he most enjoys about his role as a personal finance writer is that he is free to tell the public what he really thinks and tell it in an easy to understand style – “in plain English” as they say. John is a frequent interviewee and commentator on our national airwaves (Pat Kenny, Ted Harding – Today FM’s Sunday Business Show, Newstalk, 98FM, East Coast radio et al ) and amongst our print media and lately television (Late Late Show March 2006, plus others on RTE – Prime Time, Afternoon Show - and TV3). He wrote a column “Making Money” in the LIFE magazine supplement of the Sunday Independent every week 2007 – he has written 70 of these articles to date and 50 of these articles will be compiled in his 5th book in April 2008 by his publishers Gill & Macmillan entitled “50 Ways to Wealth”. With over 30 years experience in the finance sector – he is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers - and a genuine interest in helping people make their money work for them, he is one of Ireland’s most respected personal finance gurus.

John Lowe is also managing director of Providence Finance Services, a financial services company with offices in Stillorgan and Drumcondra.

John is invited to speak on personal finance to companies and organisations from all sectors to help them make the most of their money. Recently he completed a series of seminars to auctioneering executives with economist Jim Power. The majority of his leisure time is spent with his family (three children), while in his spare time he plays golf ( handicap of 13 out of Foxrock Golf Club ), music ( has his own 6 piece band ) and relaxes when he can !
