Gavin Harte has been a high profile spokesperson on environmental and sustainability issues in Ireland for many years. He has worked as the national director of An Taisce and was the founder and developer of Ireland’s first eco-village in Cloughjordan Co Tipperary.

Gavin has worked as an educator, a TV presenter and a musician. With RTE he presented the very popular travel series "Across the Line", backpacking overland from Dublin to Australia on a budget of just £25 a day.

Gavin holds a master’s degree in sustainable development and his skill in communicating environmental issues is well recognised. In an effort to communicate these critical issues Gavin has developed a highly engaging talk on climate change, energy and our ecological footprint.

Strongly influenced by Al Gore’s multimedia presentation, Gavin’s mix of photographs, video clips, and animations, documents the enormous influence human activity is having on our planet and the serious impacts these are likely to have.

This year Gavin has provided education and training on sustainable development for IBEC, the EPA, Comhar (sustainable development council), IPA, the British Council, the Department of the Environment and Local Government, SEI, Trinity Science Gallery, among others.

Gavin is currently providing Education for Sustainable Development for business, third level colleges and the general public throughout Ireland. He also works with Step Green - Carbon and Energy Consultants and in partnership with the City of Dublin Energy Management Agency (Codema) he is developing an energy efficiency renovation programme for homeowners in Dublin city and County.
