Eddie O'Sullivan
Former coach of the Irish rugby team
Since taking charge in November 2001, Eddie O'Sullivan has dramatically changed the fortunes and style of Ireland's National rugby team and become their most successful ever coach.
Respected as one of the most professionally thorough and innovative coaches in World rugby, he has made history by leading Ireland to three Triple Crown victories in the last four years and also overseen the defeat of every major power in the game, with the exception of the New Zealand All Blacks.
Where once Ireland rugby teams played in hope alone, under the guidance of O'Sullivan they now perform with optimistic confidence and with a try-scoring orientation that has made a bold statement on behalf of Irish rugby throughout the oval world.
One of the game's great strategists, it is under O'Sullivan's influence that the likes Brian O'Driscoll, Paul O'Connell, Gordon Darcy and Ronan O’Gara have emerged as four of the most influential young players in the game - earning a household recognition which has done much to spread the appeal and popularity to a wider audience of rugby in Ireland.
Seconded as assistant coach to Sir Clive Woodward for the Summer 2005 Lions tour to New Zealand, O'Sullivan's impressive rugby CV also takes account of a stint as National Technical Director of USA rugby, working with the US Eagles; as well as with the Connacht provincial team; the Ireland under 21 team and with Blackrock College and Buccaneers.
A high speed utility back, he played his rugby for both Garryowen and Munster.
Eddie is invited to a very popular guest speaker at corporate events. By using his experiences as coach and team player he engages audiences by marrying the similarities of goal setting, reaching full potential, team playing, leadership skills etc on the rugby field to those in corporate environment.
