Brody Sweeney

Brody Sweeney founded one of Ireland's greatest export brands O'Brien's Sandwich Bar chain in 1988 and together with his management team build the chain to over 300 outlets in 16 countries. In 2005 he retired from the day to day management of the business to pursue a career in politics' and in the 2007 General Election, stood for Fine Gael in Dublin North East. Brody Sweeney is today bringing his experience and knowledge to the Asian food delivery business as Chief Executive of the Diep at Home Group.

In late 2008, he returned to manage the business, which was getting into serious difficulties as consumer confidence collapsed, and the company's expensive rent toll proved a liability. In 2009 he put the U.K. division into administration,and bought the business back from the administrators. He then put the Irish business into Examinership, and failed in a High Court action to rescind onerous leases. The Irish company was subsequently put into liquidation, and in a deal with Abrakebabra Investments, he exited the Irish business. In March 2010, he sold his interest in the remaining O'Brien's businesses. The O'Briens business continues to thrive.

He is a non-executive director of Paddy Power PLC. He is co-founder of the Irish business charitable foundation, Connect Ethiopia. He is author of two bestselling busienss books Making Break published in 2005, and Small to Tall published in 2008. He is also a board member of Eat City Ltd. The online food delivery portal.

Brody is a popular speaker on the business circuit, speaking on leadership, entrepreneurship, motivation and teambuilding. He also runs a successful residential training course for business owners. Brody speaks on various topics including the following:
